Recent Research in CAR-T Therapy Development

A trending investigational approach to treating a variety of blood cancers and hematologic disorders has been chimeric antigen receptor (CAR) T-cell therapy. This form of immunotherapy involves removing T-cells from a patient and modifying them so that they express receptors specific to the patient's particular disease. The T-cells are then re-introduced into the patient and are able to recognize and kill cancer cells. Over the past 3 months, CAR-T therapy has completely revolutionized treatment options for patients with various blood-related cancers and non-hematologic cancers. This slideshow highlights some of the biggest breakthroughs in CAR-T therapy across multiple disease states.
